New VIP Member Rules

I know many of you enjoy the extra content that comes with being a VIP member, however many new members have began spamming the forum in a blitzkrieg to try and attain this status rather quickly. So in light of this VIP rules have been changed to meet the following requirements:

• You must have 100 posts
• You must have been a member for at least 1 re-bill (30 days)
• You may have no more than 3 warnings from forum moderators or administrators

Even in light of my recent attainment of VIP, I agree with these measures. While I typically am a lurker, I have tried to make whatever post I make a worthwhile addition to the record. Seeing someone join and every thread on the first page of every forum have a post belonging to them (and many of those posts having no substance or relevance to them) just to get to 100.... that's really not VIP in my opinion....

I think this is a good idea. Some people have been pushing the limits of what's acceptable. A month really isn't that long to wait.

I feel I might be one of those mentioned above, seeing as I was posting rather a lot. At any rate, that sounds fair enough to me.

Does that mean those of us who have 100+ posts but haven't been here for the 30+ days get our VIP status revoked until the date ticks over, or will it just be for people who haven't become VIP yet?

no you will be grandfathered in. This is only for new members.

This seems like a really good idea personally; ive been here a couple of months now but i dont post all that often ill be working my way up to the goodies that VIP entails and this new rule will make earning that much sweeter.

These rules are a good idea i guess. my friend had vip access a couple of months ago but i think he doesnt come on here anymore. I just hope that the month goes by quick : (

I feel pretty good about having these limits as a new comer as well. I do have an important question: What if you got the 90 day option like I did? Do you have to wait 90 days?

But to be fair, 30 days is plenty of time for anyone to make 100 creditable posts.

No, if you were smart and bought a 3 months subscription (and saved 5$) then you will still get VIP status should you make 100 posts and are here for at least 30 days.

If I paid for a 90 day instead of 30 day membership, do I only need to wait 30 days, even though it is not a re-bill technically?

Once again, Great Admin-samah has reigned down great justice and wisdom.

I try really, really hard to not spam the board. I don't post just for the sake of getting one closer to 100. But it's been really hard to not feed the flooders recently. I like the new rules.

There is only so much that one person can post. I agree I have been looking for things to comment on. It would take forever to become a VIP and to be honest I did not see that avatar picture until after my first post.

What exactly does one gain when attaining the VIP status?

I usually post when i feel terribly strong about things and try not to be much of a chatty kathy, well that and a good bit of internet social anxiety disorder (as weird as that sounds). I will definately have to come over here more and talk it up the boards if there is treasure involved. XD

A handful of the pictures in each set are only visible to VIPs, and you also get access to a VIP forum where occasionally outtakes, previews and other such treats are posted.

I'll get there sooner or later. I've tried to start a few conversations to help me get there, as well as get to know the community as a whole. I think I lack the free time to ever get spammy.

Personally I think the 100 post requirement is disadvantageous to lurkers such as myself, but I guess now I'll have to make an effort to join the community as it were. I really don't see why a lot of sites have systems like this in place that basically punish people for not socializing.

It's not a punishment, simply a reward. If you contribute to the content then you get access to more content. It's purely optional and does not take anything away from your regular membership.

I understand where you're coming from. And there is no pressure to gain that status, its completely optional. There is no time limit, the content will be there if you gain status tomorrow or in a year. It's out way of giving people some incentive to liven up the community.
